Giuseppe Sabbatini 
Giuseppe Sabbatini, after having performed as a double bass player, began taking voice lessons and won numerous national and international Competitions, among which the "Belli" Competition in Spoleto (1987). Subsequently he made his debut in the role of Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor. His career led to performances in the most important Italian theatres (la Scala in Milan, Teatro dell'Opera in Rome, Teatro Regio in Turin, Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Teatro Regio in Parma, Teatro Comunale in Bologna and in Florence, Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, Teatro Arena Sferisterio in Macerata) and international theatres such as the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, the Staatsoper in Vienna, Opéra-Bastille in Paris, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, Carnegie Hall in New York, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the San Francisco Opera, the Liceu Theatre in Barcelona, the Opera Foundation of Japan and the New National Theatre of Tokyo, the Montecarlo Opéra, the Théâtre du Capitole de Toulouse and the Teatro Sao Carlos in Lisbon.

During his career he has interpreted the principal roles of Idomeneo, Mitridate, re di Ponto and Don Giovanni by Mozart; Linda di Chamounix, La Favorita, L'Elisir d'amore, Anna Bolena, Maria Stuarda, Roberto Devereux and Lucrezia Borgia by Donizetti; I Puritani by Bellini; Rigoletto, La Traviata, Simon Boccanegra and Falstaff by Verdi; La Bohème by Puccini; Evgenij Onegin in Tchaikovsky and Fra Diavolo by Auber. He has also performed in William Tell by Rossini, La Fille du régiment and Dom Sébastien by Donizetti, Werther, Manon and Thaïs by Massenet, La Damnation by Faust and Benvenuto Cellini by Berlioz, Les Contes d'Hoffmann and Orphée aux enfers by Offenbach, Les Pêcheurs de perles by Bizet, Faust and Roméo et Juliette by Gounod and works with conductors such as Bruno Bartoletti, Richard Bonynge, Bruno Campanella, Riccardo Chailly, Myung-Whun Chung, Sir Colin Davis, Daniele Gatti, Gianandrea Gavazzeni, Gianluigi Gelmetti, James Levine, Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Muti, Kent Nagano, Seiji Ozawa and Michel Plasson.

Giuseppe Sabbatini has also performed in many concerts: Stabat Mater, Petite Messe Solennelle by Rossini, Requiem di Donizetti, Il prigioniero di Dallapiccola, Mass in B Minor by Bach, Mass in C Minor by Mozart, Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, Messa da Requiem by Verdi, Requiem no. 5 by Berlioz and Messa no.5 by Schubert.

Among the most important engagements for the future is the intense collaboration with the Wiener Staatsoper and with the Teatro alla Scala, Don Giovanni at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, Lucia di Lammermoor and La Bohème at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin, La Damnation de Faust at the Opéra National de Paris.

Giuseppe Sabbatini has been awarded with different prizes and acknowledgements among which the "Caruso", "Lauri Volpi", "Abbiati" and "Schipa d'Oro" prizes.

In 2003 he received the prestigious nomination Kammersaenger by the Wiener Staatsoper. He has also made many recordings.
