Born in Milan. Following a series of performances in Italy, she launched on international career. Her autoritative and flexible vocalism, supported by a solid and refined singing technique, nuanced phrasing and remarkable acting abilities, enable her to encompass a wide operatic repertoire.

Her vocal gifts and dazzling appearance have made Amarilli Nizza one of the most acclaimed sopranos of her generation in all the Italian Opera Houses and among the most prestigious Theatre and International Opera Theatres as: Royal Opera House – Covent Garden (London); Wiener Staatsoper (Wien); Fondazione Arena (Verona); Deutsche Oper (Berlin); Hamburgische Staatsoper (Humburg); Teatro Colon (Buenos Aires); Oper Leipzig; Kremlin Palace (Moscow); Teatro de la Maestranza (Sivilla); Megaron (The Athens Concert Hall); Tokio New National Theatre, Bunka Kaikan, Bunkamura, Sächsische Staatsoper Dresdene.

In his repertoire she has the top level in most of the roles of Verdi’s and Puccini’s works which she has performed very often. Apart from the two most important italian composero, she has also performend Pagliacci (Nedda); Adriana Lecouvreur (Adriana); Carmen (Micaela); Mephistopheles (Margherita); Le Nozze di Figaro (Contessa Almaviva) Thaïs (Thaïs); Francesca da Rimini (Francesca); Die Lustige Witwe (Valencienne), Amica (Amica).

She has worked with some of the most famous conductors like: Maurizio Rinaldi, Zubin Metha, Daniel Oren, Bruno Bartoletti, Alain Lombard, Philippe Auguin, Ulf Schirmer, Renato Palumbo, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Alain Guingal, Donato Renzetti, Giuliano Carella, Massimo De Bernardt, Ralph Weikart, Romano Gandolfi, Paolo Arrivabeni.

Among stage directors she has worked with Franco Zeffirelli, Peter Konvitchny, Grahm Vick, Paul Curran, PierLuigi Pizzi, Jean Luis Grinda, Gianfranco De Bosio, Hugo De Ana, Gilbert Delfo, Alberto Fassini, Roberto De Simone, Nicolas Joel, Isabelle Wagner, Renata Scotto, David Poutney, Goetzhe Friedrich, Pier Alli, Lorenzo Mariani, Renzo Giacchieri, Francesco Micheli.

Future engagements include: Madama Butterfly (Cio-Cio-San) in July 2013 at Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Macbeth (Lady Macbeth) in October 2013 at Sächsische Staatsoper Dresden; I Due Foscari (Lucrezia) in November 2013 at Hamburg Staatsoper, Nabucco (Abigaille) in November 2013 and March 2014 at Oper Leipzig, Francesca da Rimini (Francesca) in February 2014 at Teatro Regio in Torino.
