Antonio De Gobbi 
He studied with maestros Sandrini, Rome and Ferraris and won the "Katia Ricciarelli" competition in 1993.

Antonio de Gobbi is a Venetian bass with a wide vocal range and a warm, glowing timbre of the true Basso Cantante. He combines vocal flexibility with a capturing stage presence, a combination that has earned him the admiration of audiences as well as the respect of famous conductors such as: B. Bartoletti, S. Byckoc, J. Conlon, G. Gelmetti, V. Gergiev, P. Maag, R. Muti, D. Oren, M. Viotti, to name only the most famous of those with whom he has worked with so far.

De Gobbi has performed on the stages of internationally famous Italian opera houses, such as: La Fenice di Venezia, La Scala di Milano, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Teatro Comunale di Firenze, Carlo Felice di Genoa, Festival Pucciniano di Torre del Lago, Arena di Verona, Opera di Roma and Accademia di Santa Cecilia.

His technique allows him always to render his roles with great stylistic ease and taste, be it chamber music, sacred music or opera, belcanto or romantic roles, or roles from his wide Verdian repertoire.

In 1994 he performed Colline in La Bohème by Puccini at Teatro La Fenice of Venice, conducted by Marcello Viotti.

In 1995 he was Caronte in L'Orfeo by Monteverdi at Teatro Alighieri of Ravenna, then he was Samuel in Un Ballo in maschera by Verdi at Teatro Comunale of Florence, conducted by Bychkov. In 1996 he performed the role of Bartolo in Le Nozze di Figaro by Mozart at Teatro Verdi of Sassari, conducted by Elisabetta Maschio.

In 1997 he performed Escamillo in Carmen by Bizet at Teatro Politeama of Lecce and in Messa da Requiem by Verdi in Bruxelles, with the London Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, conducted by Shipway.

In 1998 he performed the role of Timur in Turandot by Puccini at Festival of Torre del Lago (conducted by Boncompagni) and Lucrezia Borgia by Donizetti at Teatro alla Scala of Milan (conducted by Gelmetti). He also took part in the performance of La Petite messe solennelle by Rossini in Bologna.

In 1999 he performed the Gold Seller in Cardillac by Hindemith at Teatro C. Felice of Genoa, conducted by Bartoletti and Colline in La Bohème by Puccini at Teatro dell'Opera in Rome.

He also made his debut in the role of Selim in Il Turco in Italia by Rossini at Teatro Sociale of Mantua.

In 2000 he was again Colline at Teatro Regio of Parma, Ferrando in Il Trovatore by Verdi in the opera houses of Rovigo, Pisa, Trento and Lucca, and Raimondo in Lucia di Lammermoor by Donizetti in Pisa.

In 2001 he performed Colline at Teatro Vittorio Emanuele of Messina and Ramfis in Aida in the Theatres of Rovigo, Pisa and Trento.

In the season 2002 for the Rossini-festival in Wildbad, De Gobbi took part in the productions of Maometto II by Rossini and Maometto II by Winter.

Then he made his debut in the role of Conte d'Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro by Mozart in Pisa.

He took part to the opening production of the season 2002/2003 of Teatro Regio of Parma with a concert performance of L'Assassinio nella cattedrale by Pizzetti, then he was engaged in the production of La Battaglia di Legnano by Verdi at Teatro S. Carlo of Naples.

In April 2003 his performance of Colline at the Teatro C. Felice of Genoa was very successful.

Some of his future engagements include, Le Donne curiose by Wolf-Ferrari for the opening production of Teatro Filarmonico of Verona; L'Assassinio nella cattedrale at Teatro dell'Opera of Rome; Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg by Wagner at Teatro Comunale of Firenze.

He also took part in the performance of the following operas and oratorios: L'Incoronazione di Poppea by Monteverdi; L'Ercole amante by Cavalli; Magnificat by C.P.E. Bach, Stabat Mater by Haydn; Così fan tutte, Don Giovanni, La Betulia liberata, and Requiem by Mozart; La Sonnambula by Bellini; La Cenerentola, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Il Turco in Italia (recorded for label Kicco-classic), Stabat Mater by Rossini; Il Campiello and I Quattro rusteghi by Wolf-Ferrari.
