Marco Spotti was born in Parma and began his studies in the conservatory in his home town where he graduated with top marks. He has participated in and has won numerous competitions among which Zandonai, VociVerdiane, Viotti-Valsesia, Sanremo.
Subsequently he began his national and international career and he has given performances in the Teatro Regio in Parma in Un Ballo in maschera, at the Teatro alla Fenice in Venice in Un Ballo in maschera, Aida in Marseilles and at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, I Lombardi at the Marseilles Theatre (m.o Carella), Messa di Requiem by Verdi at the Stadttheater in Klagenfurt, Gianni Shicchi at the Teatro Verdi in Florence, La Traviata at the San Francisco Opera; Don Giovanni and Beethoven's Ninth Symphony at the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome (m.o Gelmetti), Iphigénie en Aulide by Gluck at the Teatro Arcimboldi (m.o Muti ), Tosca at the Teatro Real in Madrid (m.o Benini), Rigoletto at the Teatro Royal in Liegi (m.o Fogliani), I Vespri siciliani at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo and La Gioconda at the Theatres in Livorno, Rovigo, Pisa and Modena (m.o Karytinos).
At the Arena di Verona he sang in Aida while at the Teatro Filarmonico he performed in Bohème. In the 2006 summer opera festival at the Arena he will perform the part of the King in Aida and that of Angiolotti in Tosca.
