Natalia Ushakova 
Natalia Ushakova studied singing in the conservatory in Saint Petersburg. She perfected her voice with Leyla Gencer at the "Accademia di Perfezionamento" at the Teatro alla Scala and in the year 2000 she won first prize in the International competition 'Concorso Internazionale DI Canto Zandonai" in Rovereto and the competition "Concorso Voci Verdiane" in Busseto.

In 1998 she made her debut at the Teatro Mariinskij in Saint Petersburg in Le Nozze DI Figaro by Mozart, conducted by Noseda and during the 1998/1999 opera season she performed in Semën Kotko and Il Giocatore by Prokofiev, La Traviata by Verdi, Mazepa by Tchaikovsky, Lohengrin by Wagner, and Don Giovanni by Mozart.

Between 1999 and 2000 she was invited to sing at international theatres (Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, Opernhaus in Amsterdam, Kozerthaus in Vienna) and in prestigious theatres in Italy: she sang in the Teatro alla Scala in Mazepa by Tchaikovsky, in the role of Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni by Mozart and subsequently in the role of Mimì in La Bohème by Puccini.

During the 2000/2001 season she interpreted Violetta in La Traviata by Verdi in Busseto and Tatjana in Evgenij Onegin at the Stadttheater Klagenfurt.

In 2001 she performed in Turandot at the Washington Opera, in Don Giovanni in the Bolschoi in Moscow, in the Messa da Requiem in Bratislava for the occasion of the Peter Dvrosky Festival, in Lima in La Traviata and in the Messa da Requiem.

Her foreign performances extended also to Lausanne, Hanover and Baden-Baden. In the latter city Ms. Ushakova sang in La Traviata conducted by Gergiev.

Subsequently she performed in "Concerti verdiani" with the Toscanini Foundation of Parma.
