Tiziana Tramonti 
SOPRAN 
Born in Florence, Tiziana Tramonti studied viola at the "Luigi Cherubini" Conservatory in her native town graduating with honours under the guidance of Piero Farulli. She began her vocal studies with Ettore Campogalliani, Giorgio Favaretto and Erik Werba, continuing them with Suzanne Danco.

Tiziana has performed in productions in the most important Italian theatres such as the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Teatro Comunale in Florence, the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, the Teatro Comunale in Bologna and the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, collaborating with famous conductors such as Bruno Bartoletti, Riccardo Chailly, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Gustav Kuhn, Eduardo Mata, Riccardo Muti, Daniel Oren, Hubert Soudant and Emil Tchakarov.

During recent seasons she was engaged in the role of Fenena in Nabucco at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, in The Makropulos Affair at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, in La Traviata at the Teatro Massimo di Palermo and at the Teatro alla Scala, in Le nozze di Figaro (Marcellina) at the Teatro alla Scala, at the Opéra of Lyon, at the Opéra of Nanterre and at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna, where she obtained a brilliant personal success. After that she sang in Rigoletto at the Teatro alla Scala under the baton of Riccardo Muti, in Iber's Angelique in Palermo, in Nino Rota's Il cappello di paglia di Firenze and in Die Tote Stadt in Catania, in La cavalleria rusticana in Ravenna and in Andrea Chénier in Rome.

In the 1997/8 season she sang in Händel's Agippina and in Der Rosenkavalier at the Teatro Massimo di Palermo, in Parsifal at the Teatro Comunale in Florence, in Le nozze di Figaro at the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome, in Elektra and in Gianni Schicchi at the Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania.

In summer 1998 she was invited to the Salzburg Festival, where she performed the role of Marcellina in Le nozze di Figaro. In the same year she also sang in Gianni Schicchi while on tour with the Teatro Comunale of Bologna in Japan and in Pollicino at the Teatro Massimo di Palermo.

In 1999 she returned to the Teatro alla Scala for Il barbiere di Siviglia and La forza del destino, the latter also toured in Japan, to Catania for Die Zauberflöte, to Palermo for Otello, and she performed in Suor Angelica at the Concergebouw in Amsterdam and in L'enfant et les Sortilèges in Santiago de Campostela.

In the year 2000 Ms. Tramonti performed in Penderecki's The Devils of Loudun at the Teatro Regio di Torino, in La Traviata in Cagliari, in Gianni Schicchi at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna and in Les dialogues des Carmélites at the Teatro alla Scala, followed by her recent engagements in Le nozze di Figaro at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich and her return to Milan for Rigoletto (Giovanna), Il Trovatore (Ines) and La Traviata (Annina). She has just obtained great success singing in Evgenij Onegin (Larina) at the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome, as well as Il barbiere di Siviglia (Berta) at the Opernhaus in Zurich and La forza del destino at the Teatro Regio in Turin. Tiziana Tramonti has recently returned to the Teatro Comunale in Bologna for the successful world première of Les oiseaux de passage, and to the Teatro Massimo in Palermo for Moses und Aaron with the direction of Denis Krief.

Tiziana Tramonti can boast an extensive concert repertoire having performed in operas by composers ranging from Bach to Fauré, from Beethoven to Mahler, from Liszt to Schönberg as well as works by Malipiero, Dallapiccola and Henze, working with conductors such as Gianandrea Gavazzeni, Marcello Panni, Zoltán Peskó, Donato Renzetti and Hubert Soudant. Her vast Lieder repertoire also includes numerous Lieder by Schubert and Wagner.

Highlights of Tiziana Tramonti's future engagements include Il barbiere di Siviglia, Rigoletto and Der Rosenkavalier at the Teatro alla Scala, Le nozze di Figaro at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Gianni Schicchi at the'Opéra National de Paris, Carmen at the Arena di Verona and at the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome and Andrea Chénier at the Teatro Regio in Turin.
