Mauro Buffoli, after studying under the guidance of Juan Oncina, made his debut in Osimo in 1987 in Rabarbaro rabarbaro by Pedini and Gianni Schicchi.
He then started a brilliant career which brought him to perform in character roles in important theatrical institutions, such as the Teatro Regio in Turin, the Arena di Verona, the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genova, the Teatro Comunale in Florence, the Teatro Comunale in Bologna, the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome, as well as in Salzburg, Lausanne, Lugano, Frankfurt, Warsaw, Moscow, Stuttgart and Amsterdam.
He had the opportunity to collaborate with conductors such as Maurizio Arena, Bruno Bartoletti, Daniele Gatti, Gian Luigi Gelmetti, Lorin Maazel, Zubin Mehta, Daniel Oren and Nello Santi.
1999 brought him to the Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania for L'Amico Fritz and Il Trovatore, to the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples to sing in L'Affare Makropulos, to Macerata for Madama Butterfly.
Highlights of his future engagements include Assassinio nella cattedrale at the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome, Andrea Chénier in Torino, Alzira in Parma and Il Fantasma nella cabina in Bergamo e Lucca.
At the Arena di Verona Mauro Buffoli sang in Il Trovatore in 2001 and 2002, while in 2003 in Gala La Traviata.
In the 2006 summer opera festival in the Arena he will perform the role of Goro in Madama Butterfly .
