He was born in Pisa and lives in Verona. He got a diploma in solfeggio with seven clefs and he studied piano.

He began his theatrical activity as a choir artist in 1976 at the Teatro Giuseppe Verdi in Pisa, continuing this activity in other theatres, among which:
- the Ente Lirico of the Teatro Margherita in Genoa
- the Ente Lirico Arena di Verona
- The RAI Symphonic Choir in Milan


In 1984 he abandoned the activity as a choir artist and he began studying in order to play solo roles. At the present time he is attending a specializing course in Verona with the Maestra Francesca Gibin.

In 1987 he began his activity as a soloist with the opera Traviata in the role of Gastone.

His repertoire ranges from side roles, such as Pang in Turandot, to main characters, such as Danilo in Vedova Allegra.

He was appreciated in numerous Italian theatres, such as the Carlo Felice in Genoa, Vincenzo Bellini in Catania, the Arena di Verona and the Teatro Filarmonico, not only for his vocal qualities, but also for his research of the characterization of the interpreted characters.
