Silvano Carroli 

Silvano Carroli was born in Venice and studied voice with Mario Del Monaco. He won the Teatro la Fenice competition and was consequently granted a position in the Centro di Avviamento lirico at the Teatro di Venezia (Venice).

He made his debut in Venice in the role of Marcello in La Bohème by Puccini, directed by Franco Zeffirelli. Thereafter, Mr. Carroli became an international opera singer, singing at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, at Covent Garden in London, at the Opéra in Paris, at the Staatsoper in Vienna, at the Metropolitan in New York and in Verona, Florence, Naples, Turin, Rome, Bologna and Palermo.

His repertoire ranges from Verdi to Puccini, from Mozart to Rossini, from Donizetti to Wagner, from Bizet to Leoncavallo, from Giordano to Mascagni and from Zandonai to Puccini.

He has performed in Nabucco, Rigoletto, Macbeth, Otello, Tosca, La Fanciulla del west, La Forza del destino, Un Ballo in maschera, Andrea Chénier, Don Giovanni, Simon Boccanegra  and La Traviata in the main international Opera Houses in the world.

At the Arena di Verona, he sang in Aida in 1995 , in Tosca in 1998 and 1999 and in Aida in 2000, while at the Teatro Filarmonico, he performed in Pagliacci.

In the 2006 summer opera festival at the Arena, he performed the part of Scarpia in Tosca and the part of Amonasro in Aida.

In the 2007, summer opera festival at the Arena he will perform the part of Zaccaria in Nabucco.
