Piero Giuliacci 

Piero Giuliacci, following numerous performances in Puccini's operas La Bohème, Tosca and Turandot, extended his repertoire to include the principal Verdian roles. He sang in Aida in Europe and South America, in China, in South Africa and in Lisbon. At the Teatro Regio in Parma, in 2000, he performed in Lohengrin. He performed in Don Carlo and Rigoletto at the Palm Beach Opera, Ernani in Ravenna, Il Trovatore in Monte Carlo, Prague and Bucharest and he was invited by Zubin Mehta to the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.

His recent performances in Il Trovatore and Andrea Chénier at the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome were highly acclaimed, as was his interpretation of Radames in Leipzig. He sang in Pagliacci in Tel Aviv and in Seoul and was Calaf in the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome. His repertoire also includes the roles of Maurizio (Adriana Lecouvreur), Edgardo (Lucia di Lammermoor), Turiddu (Cavalleria rusticana), Enzo (La Gioconda) and Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly).

Other Verdian roles he has interpreted are Don Alvaro (La Forza del destino), Gustavo (Un Ballo in maschera), and Otello. In the summer of 2005 he performed in Andrea Chénier at the Arena Sferisterio in Macerata.

At the Arena di Verona he has performed numerous times in Aida (from 2001 to 2005) in Il Trovatore and in Turandot. In the 2006 summer opera season at the Arena he will play the role of Canio in Pagliacci and Radames in Aida.
